Tell us about a deep soul connection you’ve experienced. I have had the most fortunate opportunity to have a deep soul connection with a woman. She was someone I knew before I met her. The feelings I shared with her were unlike anything I have ever felt. Because of her, I felt gratitude for the first time in my life. I know this to be a deep soul connection because prior to meeting her, I led a selfish, self-centered existence that no human power could have cured. By losing her, I found forgiveness, humility, gratitude and a genuine love of life and the gift that this life is.

Describe one of the most soul-opening moments of your life. My most soul-opening moment came in a good old-fashioned, ever so slow, passionate kiss. When I put my hand on the small of her back, it was electric. Before our lips touched, I could feel my soul opening—like a flower blooming in the sun for the first time. As she exhaled and I inhaled, I felt one constant, circular, never-ending breath. An unending energy.

When do you feel your most soulful? When I am running. When I run, I feel the physical manifestation of my inner voice. I can't describe it, I can't explain it. When I run, I am soothing my soul.

Where in the world have you felt most in touch with your soul? I am most in touch with my own soul in my home. After years of bouncing from job to job and state to state, it was when I bought my childhood home that I found the groundedness I had been searching for my whole life. It was through the restoration of this house that I restored my spirit. Here, I connect to that Oneness that we all need to grow.

Describe one of the most soulful people you’ve ever known. My 11-year-old goddaughter Maddie. She has the innocence and wisdom of an old soul. She has a caring, yet curious personality that lets her speak her mind without hurting anything or anyone. She has a way of walking through the garden of life without trampling the flowers.

What qualities do you feel a soulful relationship has? A soul relationship has humility, compassion and energy. It has a purpose. There is a give and take that keeps it alive and growing. It also has a timeline... a reason, a season or a lifetime.

What do you feel your soul’s purpose is? Today I believe my soul's purpose is to grow along spiritual lines. I have a purpose to feel feelings, process emotions and live a happy, joyous and free existence.
